How many treatments are required?
A: This depends on your goals. Your provider can discuss this with you during your consultation.
Pre-treatment
Staying out of the sun for 3-4 weeks pre AND post treatment is recommended. Treating tanned skin is never recommended and can result in undesirable side effects. You may be asked to stop using exfoliating products1 week prior to treatment.
Side Effects:
- Post-treatment: redness, sunburn sensation, tingling, sensitivity are normal. Heat will peak post treatment and dissipate.
- Day 1: slight redness, slight swelling possible. Skin feels soft and silky before the exfoliation begins.
- Days 2-6: Patients notice their skin beginning to naturally peel.
- 1 Week: Patients report their skin feels more even and smooth.
- 1 Month: Gradual results improve over 1-2 months post treatment
Aftercare
Your provider will go over all aftercare instructions with you during your consultation.
- 3DMiracl: Medically there is no downtime since this is such a superficial treatment, but you can expect redness, slight swelling, warmth, etc.
- UltraClear Customized Treatment: This treats deeper layers of the skin which means exposed dermis is a possibility. This means 2-3 days of downtime could be required with important instructions for taking care of your post-procedure skin.
