What is narrowband UVB (nb-UVB) phototherapy
Narrowband UVB phototherapy emits a specific wavelength (311–313 nm) that targets inflammation in the skin while minimizing the risk of burning or long-term UV damage. It is highly effective for a range of chronic dermatoses and can significantly improve patient quality of life.

Appointment frequency?
Initially, three (3) treatments/week (ideally M, W, F). Once improvement is observed, reduce to 1-2x/week for maintenance. Stay consistent, especially in the first 4-6 weeks, for the best outcome.

Not every insurance payer may cover this treatment. Every insurance plan differs, so a prior-authorization may be needed before you start this treatment.
What can I expect during treatment?
Appointments are quick! You can expect a speedy visit. You stand in a phototherapy booth surrounded by UVB lights. The light feels warm, but not hot. There’s no pain during treatment.
What to expect after treatment?
Your skin may feel slightly warm, dry, or itchy—usually temporary. Occasionally, you might experience mild redness, similar to a light sunburn. Always report this to staff.
